Recent NewsSeptember 21, 2025, Bayfield County and CBR co-host Sun Day. The national sponsored event was held at the Courthouse Annex and included an overview of energy projects in Bayfield County facilities followed by a tour of the Courthouse/Jail microgrid. More information here.
July 8, 2025, CBR presented an update to the Chequamegon Chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby about area clean energy projects. You can view the slide deck here.

Upcoming Events & CalendarTuesday, October 28, 2025, 5pm, Bayfield County Energy Presentation, at the Bayfield County Courthouse Board Room (second floor). A repeat of the Sun Day presentation held on Sept. 21 for those who missed it. The presentation will cover past, present, and future energy initiatives and document successes and challenges with sustainable energy goals. Presented by Bill Bailey of CBR.

Featured ExamplesThe Bayfield Rec Center has completed its 75kW solar PV installation and started producing electricity on July 25, 2025. Read more about the project here.
Northern Lights Services' 120kW grid-tied solar array was commissioned on December 6, 2024. It is the first large system in our area featuring bifacial panels coupled with an energy meter to track the increased efficiency from the panels. Red more about the project here.
Chequamegon Humane Association (CHA), in Ashland, successfully installs community funded 15kW solar array. The array went live in August 2023 with celebration and ribbon cutting on August 24th. Jolma Electric, of Ashland, was the installation contractor. Read more here.
