Wisconsin’s Focus on Energy Announces Renewable Energy Competitive Incentive Program (RECIP) Awards Nov.27th, 2018
The City of Washburn and the Washburn School District have been awarded RECIP grants to implement solar PV facilities.
The City of Washburn has been granted $79,119 to cover 34% of the cost to construct a 100kW ac solar generation facility at their Waste Water Treatment Plant. The City has until December 11th to accept this grant and it is on the December 10th City Council meeting’s agenda.
The School District of Washburn received $55,313 to cover construction costs for a 100kW ac solar PV installation at the elementary school and $48,676 for the High School. Previously they received $50,335 from the Energy Innovation Grant Program, administered through Wisconsin’s Energy Innovation Office, to cover implementation costs and energy efficiency measures at both schools. The School District has until December 7th to accept the RECIP award and move forward with the project.
In addition, on November 28th, 2018, the School District of Washburn was awarded $40,000, $20,000 for each school, from a program called Solar for Good, administered by RENEW WI out of Madison. The School District has until December 11th to accept this award. More about this grant will be announced in the coming days.
