Northland College

Northland College is a pioneer in environmental education and sustainability practices. It's commitment is evident throughout many initiatives around campus including renewable energy, green buildings, local food systems, community education and partners, just to name a few. Northland's current renewable energy sources include solar hot water, solar PV, wind, and geothermal heating and cooling.

Northland recently announced a goal of being carbon neutral by 2030 and is currently undergoing an assessment to determine the various methods that will be used to eliminate their current carbon dioxide emission levels of 3,500 tons/year. It is anticipated additional renewable energy and other new technologies to reduce dependence on fossil fuels will be implemented to meet this goal.
